Cellular Collaboration gives viewers the ability to contribute to a large-scale digital painting using the ubiquitous mobile phone. I see this installation as a large art canvas, with a virtually unlimited number of contributors. The viewers can add shapes and lines to the screen using text messaging on their phones. For example, to add a red square in the lower right corner someone would text the message "square large red 700 50".
